TELL CITY, Ind. (June 25, 2007) - Boater Brandon Gladish of Petersburg, Ind., won the Bass Fishing League Hoosier Division bass fishing tournament on the Ohio River Saturday with a five-bass catch weighing 11 pounds, 10 ounces. The victory earned Gladish $4,197 and placed him one step closer to qualifying for the Kentucky Lake Regional Championship in Gilbertsville, Ky., Oct. 18-20, where he could ultimately win a new 519VX Ranger boat and a Chevy truck.
Gladish fished a spinnerbait around wood to get his quality-sized, tournament limit of bass.
Rounding out the top five boaters are Larry Sisk of Evansville, Ind. (five bass, 10-02, $2,469); Brad Stogsdill of Nashville, Ind. (five bass, 9-10, $1,646); Mike Brewington of Columbus, Ind. (four bass, 7-11, $1,070) and Marty Sisk of Evansville, Ind. (five bass, 7-11, $1,070).
Gladish took home the Boater Division Big Bass award, earning $745 for a 4-pound, 14-ounce bass.
Gill Hensley of Beech Grove, Ind., earned $2,364 as the co-angler winner Saturday thanks to four bass weighing 6 pounds, 12 ounces.
Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Bob Ungren of Jeffersonville, Ind. (three bass, 5-15, $1,182); Kevin Keltner of Pekin, Ind. (four bass, 5-02, $788); Jim Hippensteel of Rochester, Ind. (one bass, 5-01, $512) and James Ping of Indianapolis, Ind. (one bass, 5-01, $512).
Hippensteel and Ping both earned $176 as the co-angler Big Bass winners after they each caught a 5-pound, 1-ounce bass.
The Hoosier Division's fourth event will be held July 28 on the Ohio River in Tell City, Ind., and the final event of the regular season will be a two-day Super Tournament held Sept. 8-9 on Patoka Lake in Jasper, Ind.
