WOODBRIDGE, VA. (Oct. 2, 2006) - Boater Peter O'Donnell of Deale, Md., earned 300 points and $6,188 Sunday as the winner of the Bass Fishing League Shenandoah Division Super Bass Fishing Tournament on the Potomac River. He also earned a $1,500 Ranger Cup contingency bonus.
O'Donnell's two-day winning catch of 10 bass weighed 35 pounds, 7 ounces.
Rounding out the top five boaters are Brandon Gray of Bullock, N.C. (10 bass, 33 pounds, 4 ounces, $3,0947); Terry Olinger of The Plains, Va. (10 bass, 29 pounds,7 ounces, $2,062); Chris Atwell of Mechanicsville, Va. (10 bass, 28 pounds, 3 ounces, $1,444) and Preston Crum of Nokesville, Va. (10 bass, 27 pounds, $1,238).
Olinger also won the Boater Division Snickers Big Bass award with a 6-pound, 15-ounce bass that earned him $862.
Kermit Crowder of Matoaca, Va., earned $3,094 as the co-angler winner thanks to five bass weighing 27 pounds, 11 ounces. Crowder also earned $431 as the co-angler Snickers Big Bass winner with a 5-pound, 4-ounce bass.
Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Bill Herron of Chesapeake, Va. (nine bass, 27 pounds, 10 ounces, $1,574); Allen Burns of Rustburg, Va. (10 bass, 26 pounds, 5 ounces, $1,029); Allan Price of Staunton, Va. (10 bass, 21 pounds, 2 ounces, $722) and Billy Reed of Yorktown, Penn. (nine bass, 19 pounds, 10 ounces, $619).
The top 40 Shenandoah Division boaters and co-anglers based on year-end points standings will now advance to the no-entry-fee Kerr Lake Regional Championship near Henderson, N.C., where they will compete against Gator, Savannah River and South Carolina Division anglers for a new Ranger boat and a Chevy truck in the Boater Division plus six slots in the no-entry-fee 2007 BFL All-American.
