SPIRIT LAKE, IOWA - It was fun, although not very fishable, to insert a piece of Alka Seltzer into the cavity of a tube bait before casting. If the bait didn't throw the Alka Seltzer on the cast, the tube would hopefully discharge bubbles as it was retrieved back to the boat. Berkley has taken all the guesswork out of this picture with the introduction of the new "Bubble Up" Power Baits.

Available in three popular fish-catching shapes, Bubble Up Tournament Strength Power Baits are built with a preformed pocket to hold another new Berkley product, the Bubble Up Pellet. This reliable combination is sure to catch more fish.

Bubble Up Power Baits shapes include a 4-inch crawfish shape, a 3-inch minnow grub and a 4-inch minnow tube. The baits are coated with Power Scales, a poly-graphic finish of thousands of tiny hex-shaped pieces of holographic fleck. Power Scales gradually fall from the lure during the retrieve for a life-like look of a wounded baitfish loosing its scales.

Placed into the preformed pocket of the crawfish and grub or the cavity of the tube, the Bubble Up Pellet begins to create bubbles as it dissolves in water. These bubbles have additional Power Bait attractant for scent and flavor and also create a bubbling sound. In the tube for example, the bait actually rises as bubbles are momentarily trapped inside the cavity. As the bubbles escape the tube drops. This combination of bubbles, sounds, scent, flavor and motion create bait that bass, walleye and other game fish simply can't resist.

A single Bubble Up Pellet lasts approximately 15 minutes in the water and replacement is easy. Each pellet visually contains a red dye, which simulates a blood trail.

The minnow grub has the colors of blue shad, emerald shiner, pearl blue shad, chartreuse shad and smelt.
