MONTGOMERY, Texas — CastAway Outdoors has announced that it will host the largest and most significant new product launch in its 30-year at the 2015 ICAST show in Orlando, July 15-17.
“The three brand new rod lines we will introduce at the exposition this year will set a new high water mark for rod innovation,” said Michael McDevitt, Vice President and General Manager for the Montgomery, Texas-based rod manufacturer. “New proprietary blank technology and select components come together to deliver rods with a lightness, sensitivity and strength uncommon for rods at these price points.”
The new rod series are the Skeleton V2, Taranis CX1 and Helios. Each offers a unique blend of features.
“Every component factors into rod performance. We have been on a mission to create the best blanks available for rods at each level and to match them with components that will accentuate their benefits, ” said McDevitt. “This quest has led CastAway to these unbelievable upgrades.”
The all-new Skeleton V2 replaces the Skeleton series, long a staple in the CastAway line. Featuring a proprietary 30 Ton Rainshadow Revelation blank made to CastAway design and specification, ergonomically designed handles, and Batson Alps series components. Skeleton V2 was made to deliver on its name’s promise of “bare bones” lightness and responsiveness. The series will feature 20 SKUs designed for fresh and saltwater angling. It will retail for $189.99.
The Taranis CX1 features CastAway’s proprietary high modulus graphite with carbon nanotube polymer composite in a new multi-layered configuration. Its 16 SKUs designed for fresh and saltwater angling deliver wand-like lightness and sensitivity. Taranis CX1 rods will retail for $99.99 to $109.99.
An introductory rod series with upscale features, the Helios line is packed with value. Helios rods will feature a proprietary 24 Ton carbon fiber blank, stainless steel guides and full premium cork handles. The 10 SKUs will retail for $49.99 to $59.99.
“This year marks another big leap in tackle evolution for CastAway,” added McDevitt. “Last year, the CastAway Invicta line with its true 40 Ton carbon fiber blank and all-weather non-slip Winn grips set an industry standard for excellence. Now our product development team has compressed unprecedented quality and responsiveness into rods at mid-level to introductory price points.”
CastAway has design, testing and manufacturing facilities at its headquarters in Montgomery, Texas.
