BRISTOL, Conn. - Charlie Moore isn't one to sit quietly in a boat for fear of scaring the fish. In fact, the brash Bostonian has made quite a name for himself as one of the most outspoken, trash-talking anglers around, and he's coming to ESPN2 this Sunday.

"Beat Charlie Moore" will be telecast Sundays at 10:00 a.m. (ET) on ESPN2, bringing a new element to ESPN's Outdoors Block. The show features Moore fishing against challengers from all walks of life on their home lakes. The only thing the challengers will have in common? A love of fishing and the strong desire to wallop Moore at his own game.

"Charlie brings a breath of fresh air to the fishing world," said ESPN Outdoors Coordinating Producer Dan Bowen. "He's so electric and unpredictable. Even more, this guy is no different when the cameras stop rolling! What you see is what you get. He really is a rare breed."

The show's challenges range from largemouth bass fishing on a pond in Pennsylvania to a "most cod wins" free-for-all on Boston Harbor, and even dips into billiards for the rights to a trolling motor.

"They call me the Mad Fisherman," said Moore. "I like to think I am a good fisherman, but I think everyone can enjoy the sport - it's just a matter of how much time you devote at being good at it.

"Sure we have a format for the show, but you can't script having fun," added Moore. "It's a weekly challenge whether I am fishing with a sports star or the local mailman - I'm gonna have fun and I know the viewers will, too."

Tune to ESPN2 Sundays at 10:00 a.m. to catch Moore in action. For additional information, visit www.espnoutdoors.com.

Upcoming Shows:

Jan. 4 - Charlie "The Mouth" Moore vs. Ted "The Pen" Ancher

Jan. 11 - Charlie Moore vs. Charlie Moore's Little Sister

Charlie's little sister, Julie Compare, says that Charlie isn't even the best angler in the Moore family. Julie challenges Charlie to flounder fishing on New Jersey's Cape May. But there's a wager on this episode: Charlie has to wait tables at his sister's restaurant if he loses.

Jan. 18 - Charlie Moore vs. Larry "The Landscaper" Saggese

The first challenger on "Beat Charlie Moore" is Larry Saggese, a landscaper from Massachusetts. Larry challenges Charlie to a one-day fish off - biggest bass wins - on a small lake in New Hampshire. But the on-the-water challenge is not enough for these two competitors, so they decide to take it to the boxing ring. It's not pretty.

Jan. 25 - Charlie Moore vs. the NFL

On "Beat Charlie Moore" anyone can challenge Charlie ... even professional football players. This week, former New England Patriots offensive linemen Todd Rucci challenges Charlie to smallmouth fishing on a river, but plans change. They decide to battle it out on the first body of water they see - a farm pond.
