The Foothills Division of NC Held its Third bass fishing tournament of the 2006 season at Lake James on May 6th. 30 teams gathered at Zion Baptist Church in Morganton NC on Friday night. We enjoyed the message from Pastor Ralph Mayes. The meeting was very moving and we were blessed to have Zions Music Minister in Song. Thanks goes out to Zion, because of you, 4 anglers rededicated their lives to Christ.

Saturday morning we were greeted very nice conditions.Blast off went very smooth as 30 boats started there attack on those smallies that only exist in NC in abundance on Lake James.

Fishing conditions proved to be difficult as the bass were coming off the beds and only the small fish seemed to be biting. Adult / Jr. team, Dean Tomberlin and Jake Tomberlin were able the put 14.86 pounds of Smallies in the boat to secure the first Place win and $944 in their Wallet.

Michael Blevins and Michael Wilson was not far behind them with 13.28 pounds to grab second place and $540.
