CLEARLAKE, Calif. – The Lake County High School duo of Payton Lyndall and Tyler Brant brought five bass to the scale Sunday weighing 17 pounds, 14 ounces to win the FLW High School Clear Lake tournament in Clearlake, California. For their win on Clear Lake, the team now advances to the 2021 High School Fishing National Championship.
The top four teams that qualified for the 2021 High School Fishing National Championship are:
1st: Lake County High School Fishing Club – Payton Lyndall and Tyler Bryant, both of Kelseyville, Calif., five bass, 17-14
2nd: Freedom High School, Oakley, Calif. – Tyler Hurney and Silas Jones, five bass, 17-11
3rd: Alhambra High School, Alhambra, Calif. – Luke Beaty and Emmett Gargaro, five bass, 15-6
4th: Golden Sierra High School, Garden Valley, Calif. – Sam Houston and Riley Maloney, four bass, 15-4
Rounding out the top 10 were:
5th: Heritage High School, Brentwood, Calif. – Kyle Wilson and Ryan Bedwell, five bass, 14-5
6th: Alhambra High School, Alhambra, Calif. – Ryan Tate and Austin Trantham, five bass, 14-0
7th: Vista Del Lago High School, Folsom, Calif. – Christopher Gritts and Westly Gritts, five bass, 13-14
8th: Golden Sierra High School, Garden Valley, Calif. – Josh Weinberger and Clay Smith, five bass, 13-13
9th: Freedom High School, Oakley, Calif. – Jax Soto and Justin Dallas, five bass, 13-12
10th: Lodi High School, Lodi, Calif. – Anthony Werder and Mason Ehlers, five bass, 13-12
