Sangamon Valley High School wins Tournament on Clinton Lake

DEWITT, Ill. (April 5, 2016) – The Sangamon Valley High School duo of Miles Hutchins and Chase Tucker brought a six-bass limit to the scale Sunday weighing 17 pounds even to win the 2016 TBF/FLW High School Fishing Illinois State Championship tournament on Clinton Lake. The win earned the team trophies, the title of state champions and advanced the team to the High School Fishing Central Conference championship on the Ohio River in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, on September 23-24. Twenty-six teams competed in the event, which launched from Clinton Marina.

The top two teams on Clinton Lake that advanced to the Central Conference championship were:

  1st:       Sangamon Valley High School, Niantic, Ill. – Miles Hutchins and Chase Tucker, six bass, 17-0

  2nd:      Joliet Central High School, Joliet, Ill. – Sean Cook and Tommy Zobel, six bass, 16-2

Rounding out the top 10 teams were:

  3rd:       Minooka High School, Minooka, Ill. – Jacob Doster and Zachary Peterson, six bass, 15-6

  4th:       Lutheran School Association, Decatur, Ill. – James Brown and Chandler Carter, six bass, 13-3

  5th:       Minooka High School, Minooka, Ill. – Raven Pointer and Mitchell Degraaf, four bass, 13-1

  6th:       Red Bud High School, Red Bud, Ill.  – Logan Houba and Dylan Cathell, six bass, 12-12

  7th:       Maine South High School, Park Ridge, Ill. – Salvatore Milazzo and R.J. Ozon, six bass, 11-9

  8th:       Buffalo Grove High School, Buffalo Grove, Ill. – Tyler Lubbat and Matt Runge, five bass, 10-4

  9th:       Benton Consolidated High School, Benton, Ill.  – Dallus Richardson and Trevor McKinney, four bass, 9-8

  10th:     Arthur-Lovington/Atwood -Hammond High School, Arthur, Ill. – Zachary Hingson and Adam Hingson, six bass, 9-6
