LAS VEGAS - September 15, 2004 - The Marine Retailers Association of America has selected Genmar Founder and Chairman Irwin Jacobs to receive its "Boating Pioneer Award," which was presented last night by MRAA president Phil Keeter during the closing banquet of the company's 2005 dealer meeting, Genmar reported in a release today.

In presenting the award, Keeter cited Jacobs' work and innovations during Genmar's 26 years of growing from one boat company into the world's largest privately held boat builder.

The meeting concludes today with dealers getting a last look at the boats and then attending U.S. and international on-water boat testing at Lake Mead, Nev.

Ranger Boats, Stratos, and Champion Boats are amongst Genmar's family of boats.
