2015 Hobie Bass Open Announced

OCEANSIDE, California – December 18, 2014 -  Hobie announces that the second annual Hobie Bass Open, will take place at Kentucky Dam Village State Park, May 29-31, 2015. The Open will be one of a series of U.S. and Canadian qualifying events for the 2015 Hobie Fishing Worlds V.  The winner will not only take the Open title, but will be invited to join 2014 Hobie Fishing World’s Champion, Steve Lessard, and 2014 IFA Champion, Benton Parrott, in representing Team USA at the World’s next fall.  Competitors will also vie for cash payouts and sponsored prizes.

The event is a catch, photograph and release (CPR) tournament where anglers measure and photograph their top three bass during each of the two days, to be scored by total aggregate length. Eligible species include largemouth, spotted and smallmouth bass on human powered kayaks.

A Hobie Fun Fest consumer event will be held simultaneously off the Kentucky Dam beach.  Hobie invites all competitors as well as the general public to bring their family and friends and join in the festivities that will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 30-31.  Fun seekers will have the opportunity to demo Hobie Islands, kayaks and SUP’s.
