(Benton, KY.) -- As the Lady Bass Anglers Association Tournament Trail (LBAA) moves into 2016, preparations are taking place for the second tour stop on the beautiful waters of Lake Hartwell. Nicki Meyer of the Hart County Chamber of Commerce has rolled out the red carpet in support of the Lady Bass Anglers Association pro tour (the LBAA). The collaborative effort between the Lady Bass Anglers, Hart County Chamber of Commerce and the Greenville Heritage Federal Credit Union will undoubtedly make this a remarkable event for local businesses, sponsors, and anglers alike.
The Lady Bass Anglers Women’s Pro Bass Tournament Trail offers wonderful opportunities for women of all ages and skill levels to pursue bass fishing. Women from across the country compete in this professional format as either a “boater” or a “co-angler.” The tour focuses on growing the sport of bass fishing for women and building a program for future generations of female anglers.
Anglers and their families will begin arriving in the area on April 9, 2016. Official practice will take place April 10-14. The two days of competition begins on Friday the 15th, and concludes on Saturday the 16th. The LBAA invites anyone interested in seeing the anglers’ take-off each morning at “safe light” and returning each afternoon at 3:00 PM at the Gum Branch Mega ramp. The weigh-in will take place each day at approximately 3:30 PM. Professional anglers will be working to bring in a five fish limit each day while the co-anglers will be working to bring in a three fish limit. The champion in each division will be the angler who has the heaviest two-day stringer. There will also be awards given for the biggest bass of the tournament and the highest finishing rookie. Additionally, anglers are accumulating points toward the Angler of the Year honors in each division, Rookie of the Year and a points’ race for qualifying to compete in the Lady Bass Classic.
The LBAA encourages anglers in the region to join the LBAA and fish the Lake Hartwell event. Membership is $50. Registration for professionals is $400 and co-anglers is $200. The deadline for registration is March 16, 2016. Registrations after this date will incur a late fee.
The Lady Bass Anglers also offer an opportunity for one young woman, between the ages of 16-21 to fish as a co-angler on the Lauren’s Legacy Scholarship. The scholarship will pay for the anglers’ entry into the event. The application and information can be located on the LBAA website. This scholarship opportunity remains open for future events.
