(Jasper, Texas) -- The Lady Bass Anglers Association (LBAA) Sam Rayburn Rainbow Room Bass Fishing Tournament is now in the books. Two LBAA anglers – Sue Crochet and Tommie Domingue pulled a five bass limit from Sam Rayburn’s waters that weighed 14.62 pounds to take home the guaranteed first place check of $1,000.

“From the tournament we fished yesterday (LBAA Sam Rayburn ProAm) we learned that the fish had moved up a little bit,” stated Crochet. “So we started throwing shallow not long after we got there this morning and we started picking up fish. They were in mostly zero to five feet of water and a lot of grass.”

Every bass that Crochet and Domingue caught were lured out of Rayburn’s waters on a Zoom Super Fluke in either green pumpkin or green pumpkin with red flake. Crochet and Domingue also picked up the $200 cash award given for the highest finishing team with a female member aboard, and the largest bass of the day award for a bass, which weighed 5.67 pounds. That bass netted these two anglers another $100.

Finishing second behind Crochet and Domingue were Frank and Jennifer Stelly in second with 14.05, third went to Ricky and Patti Campbell with 11.70, fourth was Donnie and Juanita Robinson with 10.92, and fifth was Don Day and Angie Everitt with 8.99.

Sixth place went to Kenneth Venable and Jennifer Unruh with 8.74, Judith Hart and Lisa Craig took seventh with 8.45, eighth went to Key Puckett and Charlotte Frazier with 8.03, ninth was John Dickson and Laura Moore with 7.88, Matt and Rees Durand took tenth with 6.23, and Judy Skibinksy and Dawn March took eleventh with 1.36 pounds.

The highest finishing team in today’s LBAA Sam Rayburn Rainbow Room Tournament with a youngster under 12 on it picked up a cash award of $200. The father and son team of Matt and Rees Durand picked up the cash award for the today’s tournament. The Durand’s brought four bass to the scales, three of which were alive, that weighed 6.23 pounds.

The highlight of the LBAA Sam Rayburn Rainbow Room Tournament was the awarding of $1,615 to the Rainbow Rooms of Jasper and Lufkin.
