BIRMINGHAM, Ala., October 30, 2012—The Lady Bass Anglers Association (LBAA), an organization founded to promote the outdoor lifestyle and sport of women’s professional bass fishing through its series of tournaments across the Southeast, has formed a marketing and event partnership with Southern Sports Group (SSG) of Birmingham.

Southern Sports Group will handle sponsorship development, tournament site selection, marketing communications and consultation, and on-site special event production and promotion for all LBAA Women’s Pro Bass Tour activities.

“We’re excited to partner with one of the most progressive professional sports organizations in the nation in the Lady Bass Anglers Association. Their growth in the past two years has been exceptional. Our new partnership allows us to bring meaningful marketing and sponsorship opportunities, a larger footprint, more television and media exposure and new communication tools, that will further expand and enhance the LBAA Women’s Pro Bass Tour,” said Southern Sports Group President, Sandy Thompson.

“When we formed the Lady Bass Anglers Association, our goal was simple: to provide women with the opportunity to fish professionally. Our mission now includes growing our sport, and building a program that will allow future generations of young ladies to enjoy more opportunities to compete in the sport of bass fishing,” said Cheryl Bowden, Co-Founder of the LBAA.

“Through our LBAA Women’s Pro Bass Tour, we are showcasing the best our sport has to offer in a competitive, professional and fan-friendly environment. By partnering with Southern Sports Group, we are gaining the expertise of outdoor sports industry veterans who can help us grow our brand, expand our tournament footprint, and bring more people into our sport,” added LBAA Co-Founder, Secret York.
