Spokane, Washington - Japanese bass fishing tackle manufacturer, Megabass, agreed to an expanded partnership with 2004 FLW Cup Champion and 2006 Bassmaster Classic Champion Luke Clausen.  The new agreement expands Clausen’s role from bait representation to bait and rod representation.

“It’s nice to sign with a company that wants to perfect the design of rods, not only in the U.S., but worldwide,” explained Clausen.  Clausen continued, “Megabass rods already are exceptional in both quality and function, but I am excited to offer them hands on feedback to further distance them from the competitors.”

Megabass USA President Yuskei Murayama offered, “Luke is a phenomenal angler, and we are very excited that he chose to use Megabass rods this season. In addition to providing invaluable feedback on the water, Luke will participate closely in design and development, helping to guide the application of Megabass's industry-leading innovation and technology to the unique needs of the American angler.”

After one event with the new rods Clausen is impressed. “At Okeechobee I used the Orochi FX 711X4 rod for flippin’ for most of the event.  What impressed me is how effortlessly I could use a seven foot eleven inch rod all day.  In the past, I would have opted for a shorter easier to handle rod, but this ultra-light, yet incredibly strong rod was exceptional.”

Clausen closed, “Having the best tools available, like Megabass rods, is a competitive advantage for me and I am excited about my 2012 season with Megabass rods.
