Tony Stewart to Join Bass Fishing Tournament

(Statesville, NC - October 27, 2008) NASCAR driver Tony Stewart has been added to the roster of special guests who will participate in the 3rd Annual Ryan Newman Foundation Charity Bass Fishing Tournament, Boats, on Saturday, December 13 at Queen's Landing in Mooresville, NC.

Ryan Newman says, "I'm looking forward to a little friendly competition on the lake with my future teammate. Tony is a huge outdoorsman like me. We both share an interest in wildlife conservation and land preservation, which is a major focus of my foundation in additional to animal welfare."

Early registration by November 13 is $150 per boat. After November 13 registration will increase to $200 per boat. The tournament, which will be facilitated by FLW Outdoors, also includes a Big Fish Contest and a raffle.

The night before the tournament, the Ryan Newman Foundation will hold its 4thAnnual Charity Gala and Auction at the CharlesMackCitizenCenter in Mooresville, NC. Ticket prices were recently reduced to $50 per person. A special discount ticket is available for $25 for fisherman who are registered in the tournament.

Krissie Newman says, "Ryan's fans and our foundation supporters have been very generous over the past four years. During this time when our economy is struggling, we wanted to offer reduced ticket prices for all of our supporters who may have had to tighten their family budgets due the current economy. It's important to Ryan and I to make our Gala & Auction accessible to all of his fans right now."

The Newmans will be joined at their charity events by Martin Truex, Jr., Regan Smith, Stacy Compton, Brad Coleman, Scott Lagasse, Kevin Manion, Kevin "Cowboy" Starland, NASCAR Angel Shannon Wiseman, Pro Angler Chris Lane, the Musik Mafia's Two Foot Fred and Root 49 Music Recording Artist Bridgette Tatum.

Gala and Auction guests will enjoy an evening of musical entertainment and have the opportunity to meet and mingle with NASCAR drivers, pro fishermen and entertainers. Charity auction items include diamond earrings, original artwork, autographed NASCAR memorabilia from Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick, Brian Vickers and Brad Keselowski, autographed country music memorabilia from Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Kris Kristopherson, and Montgomery Gentry, and sports memorabilia from Peyton Manning, Mike Minter, Tony Dungy, Vince Young, David Carr and more.
