In fall 2020 and spring 2021, we tagged and released 1,464 Largemouth Bass, 159 Spotted Bass, and 16 Smallmouth Bass over 20 days or nights of electrofishing sampling. To date, we have received reports of 749 Largemouth Bass, 58 Spotted Bass, and 10 Smallmouth Bass caught by anglers fishing Norfork Lake.
We will begin analyzing the data received from the reported catches soon. We wanted to send out one last reminder about the importance of reporting tagged fish, as we have heard of anglers reluctant to report tagged fish they have caught. By reporting your catch, you have the opportunity to participate in a valuable fisheries study and contribute to the black bass management on Norfork Lake. So if you have any tags, we encourage you to please report them by calling or texting us at 870-706-0150. Even if you want to keep the tag or are not interested in the reward money, we ask that you still report your catch.
