BENTON, Ky. - Nominations are now being accepted for positions on the Professional Anglers Association (PAA) Board of Directors. Nominees must be PAA Tour or Legends level members in good standing and willing to accept the responsibilities of serving on the Board.
Board member responsibilities include soliciting and receiving input from members, and considering, discussing and voting on matters related to PAA's finances, schedule, membership and other topics.
Four seats will be available following the end of the terms for Paul Elias of Mississippi, Matt Reed of Texas, Zell Rowland of Texas and Brian Snowden of Missouri. “These men have been instrumental in guiding the PAA forward each year. Snowden and Reed were not only Board members this year but acted in the capacity of Treasurer and Secretary respectively. Elias is an original founder of the PAA and continues to be active and involved. I join the entire membership in thanking them for the time, effort and dedication to the PAA during their tenure.” said PAA President, Dave Mansue. “I am certain these men will continue to have an impact on the organization as we move forward.”
"I urge all PAA Tour and Legends members to consider serving on the Board of Directors. As the only organization that is angler owned and angler driven, I urge you to get involved or nominate someone you believe will be beneficial to the PAA, its membership and fishing. The PAA continues to grow each year. This can only be done through helpful, constructive leadership."
Voting for the new Board members will be limited to PAA Tour and Legends level members only. Nominations for the four vacancies may be submitted to the PAA office beginning today, Monday, February 27, 2012 and will be accepted through the close of business on Friday, March 16, 2012.
Elections will be held starting Monday, March 26, 2012 and will end at 5:00 p.m. CT on Friday, April 13, 2012.
