"It was brutally hot out there and the bite was very unusual, but I'm really happy and somewhat surprised to win this tournament because there were a lot of good sticks in the water today," Bradley said. "I caught my limit fairly early in one spot I had scouted out Monday and started culling from there. I probably culled out five or six fish and I was fortunate to get enough weight to win this deal."
Donnie Caldwell was runner-up to Bradley with five fish weighing 13 pounds, 12.2 ounces. Lenny Baird was close behind for third with five fish weighing 13 pounds, 9.6 ounces, while Stephanie Rush (five fish at 13 pounds, 6 ounces) and Shane Norton (five fish at 13 pounds, 4.2 ounces) rounded out the top five. The top five anglers all received plaques commemorating their achievements.
Lee Siefert landed the biggest fish with a four-pound, 15.8-ounce lunker.
Seventy-one GEICO employees took part in this year's tournament, including Bradley and fellow GEICO-sponsored pro angler Teddy Carr, who turned in 13 pounds, 2.2 ounces of fish. The event once again launched from Leesylvania State Park, where a post-tournament bar-be-que was held.
