MINNEAPOLIS (Nov. 8, 2011) – FLW, a leading tournament-fishing organization, announced Tuesday that Power-Pole shallow-water anchor systems, manufactured by JL Marine Systems, Inc., has extended their agreement with FLW for the 2012 season. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Over the past decade, JL Marine has changed the world of sport fishing by offering a technologically advanced boat control system. Power-Pole anchors allow fishermen to stop their boats quickly and quietly with the touch of a button.
Kathy Fennel, President of FLW Operations Division, stated: “More and more tournament professionals are realizing the benefits of the Power-Pole system, and this partnership will increase exposure to anglers of all experience levels. Our tournament anglers constantly seek cutting-edge technology to employ while competing.”
As part of the agreement, JL Marine will offer their Captain’s Cash contingency program during the 2012 FLW Tour season, as well as the EverStart Series. If enrolled, the winning pro angler at each of the six FLW Tour Majors will receive a $750 bonus. At the four FLW Tour Opens, the pro winner will earn $500 and the Forrest Wood Cup champion will receive $1,000. To be eligible, anglers must use a Power-Pole anchor and be registered in the Captain’s Cash program. More details on the program will be released in the near future.
“The Power-Pole anchoring system has become a must have piece of equipment to tournament anglers,” said Robert Shamblin, director of marketing for Power-Pole. “Through our partnership with FLW we’re able to spread awareness about our product and reach anglers at all levels; it’s something we simply can’t get anywhere else.”
As part of the sponsorship Power-Pole will retain exposure across all platforms of FLW, including its tournaments, multiple websites, magazines and various FLW events.
