FLIPPIN, AR (January 14, 2009) Trailer Boats magazine, one of North America's most trusted resources for informed boat buyers and enthusiasts, recently named Ranger's Z520 Comanche to its inaugural 2009 list of "Excellence in Design" award winners. In its January issue, the publication celebrates Ranger Boats and the flagship model, identifying it as one of the industry's most exciting and innovative new crafts.

In their recap of the heralded Ranger Z520 Comanche, the Trailer Boats staff writes, "Some rigs simply epitomize state-of-the-art, and that's exactly what you've got with Ranger's Z520 Comanche. Topside, it's evident in items such as a padded bow deck that makes long days of casting more comfortable, or a center rod locker that quickly converts to handle rods or tackle storage - or both. The rest of the design is equally commendable. ... It's designs like this that separate the casual from the dedicated in the world of freshwater fishboats."

Trailer Boats defined its inaugural "Excellence in Design" award as a way to "acknowledge the risk takers, companies with vision" and seeks "to recognize what is truly innovative in boat design." In addition to highlighting the Z520 Comanche and praising the craft's fishing and performance virtues, the magazine showcases several pieces of Ranger photography throughout its recent issue, and also features a unique hard-top boat cover recently developed by Ranger engineers.

Measuring 20 feet, 9 inches, the Z520 Comanche is rated for a maximum 250 horsepower and features 48 gallons of fuel capacity. The blend of power, size and fuel capacity make it perfectly suited for long runs on big reservoirs or fishing open water. With a 95-inch beam, the Z520 Comanche is an extremely stable fishing platform that delivers a smooth, dry ride, with plenty of fishing room.
