SEBILE has been awarded the "Best New Hard Bait Lure" award for its Stick Shadd Blood Red Series entry at the annual European Fishing Tackle Trade Exhibition (EFTTEX) held recently in Rome.

It was the first time the young lure company participated in the EFFTEX new products competition, hosted by the European Fishing Tackle Trade Association (EFFTA), and the hard bait category is its largest. The Stick Shadd is a personal favorite of designer Patrick Sebile.

"When EFFTA's Jean-Claude Bel announced our name at the awards ceremony, it was truly an astonishing moment," said Sebile. "We believed the Stick Shadd's design and the Blood Red innovation were something special, but to have others vote it as best really validates our thinking. I will never forget this experience."

The award winning Stick Shadd model 114 SU is designed to suspend at 1-2 feet and delivers erratic, unpredictable lifelike baitfish movements when twitched by the angler during retrieve. Blood Red is the name of SEBILE's new internal body fluid "blood" system.

Even at rest, the Blood Red fluid continues to transfer energy fore and aft creating lifelike quivers, trembles, pulsations, sights and "sounds" of weak and distressed baitfish. The feature comes in a number of lure models and color finishes, each having transparent sides to allow visibility of the liquid inside.

"To receive this recognition in Europe, a fishing market long known for having the most scrutinizing eyes when it comes to bait finishes, is such an honor," said David Maynard, SEBILE's chief executive officer. "This award is a testament to the kind of attention to detail that Patrick demands in every lure we make, and why SEBILE has quickly risen to become a hard bait favorite of fresh and salt water anglers at home and abroad."

SEBILE has received a great deal of recognition of late, mostly for its role in helping bass and redfish anglers achieve tournament wins. Redfish Cup anglers Andrew Bostick and Mark Sepe credited the Stick Shadd for their first place victory at Punta Gorda, Fla., last April. The SEBILE Magic Swimmer has played a major role in many BASS Elite Series wins this spring.

SEBILE will next be exhibiting at the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (ICAST) in Las Vegas, July 16 -18. The company will also be participating in that show's new product competition with yet another innovative lure design concept, the InSight® Series.
