The CastAway Skeleton V2 line of casting and spinning rods assembles the optimum mix of rod blank technology and lightweight components for maximum sensitivity, lightness and durability.

“Skeleton V2 is aptly named,” explains Michael McDevitt, Vice President and General Manager for CastAway. “Lightness and sensitivity work hand in hand. The high-tech Rainshadow Revelation rod blank, Alps SS316 guides, Alps split reel seats, and EVA/cork composite split grips are a ‘bare bones’ combination. You won’t find excess weight anywhere!”

Take a closer look.

Alps Spilt Casting and Spinning reel seats– Meet the only split reel seats with dual locking nuts and double-keyed barrel. They are ergonomically designed for all day comfort. Alps SS316 guides and ALPS PP tip top– Alps employs combined technologies to promote sensitivity and feel and protect against corrosion with these braid-ready guides. Recessed ring design virtually eliminates ring failure. ASTMB-117 salt spray guides– These durable guides were tested in steady salt spray for 50 straight days without corrosion. They simply won’t rust! Custom EVA Cork Composite Grip-- Style and durability also set CastAway’s Skeleton V2 line apart. The Custom EVA Cork Composite Grip is designed with toughness and comfort as well as handsome looks. These grips are made to fight and built to last! Twenty models comprise the Skeleton V2 line, including 12 rods tailored to freshwater bass angling and eight for light to medium saltwater sport. All are made in America, produced at CastAway’s own manufacturing facility in Montgomery, Texas. “Bass fishermen have every tool they will need in the Skeleton V2 line,” notes McDevitt. “This is a comprehensive rod series for serious fishermen, with 12 rods fine-tuned to technique and made to cover the water column from top to bottom.” Each rod is made with purpose or technique in mind, from the “Topwater/All Purpose” and “Heavy Worming” models to the “Flipping and Pitching” casting and “Drop Shot Special” spinning rods. The line includes three crankbait models: a general “Cranking” model; the “DD22 Special for deeper running crankbaits; and an “Extreme Deep Diver.” “We have added some unique specialty rods to address needs that few in the industry have even identified,” adds McDevitt. “Our ‘Long Range Launcher’ casting rod is designed for long distance casts on big waters. The ‘Grass Master Braid/Punchin’ model is made for punching mats and fighting fish in brutal places with the toughest lines.” Skeleton V2’s “Saltwater” rods are tailored to task, too! The series contains a mix of casting and spinning rods in a range of light to medium powers and a mix of actions. “Wading anglers will love what we’ve designed for them with our ‘Wader Special Med-Light’ and ‘Wader Special Medium’ rods,” says McDevitt. “Our other saltwater specials are a ‘Special Med-Light DONK’ rod and a ‘Tops & Tails’ model.” MSRP for the Skeleton V2 line is $189.99.
