While other anglers may pick up different topwater offerings as temperatures start to cool, Bass Pro Tour angler Dean Rojas sticks with his trusted SPRO frog. Making a simple adjustment in the type of frog he throws during the fall months has paid huge dividends for Rojas.

"The great thing about the Bronzeye family of frogs is that we literally have a frog for every situation. The Bronzeye Spit Shad just happens to be the one I reach for in the fall," says Rojas.

Delivering a walking, chugging, and spitting shad imitation, and offered in a range of detailed baitfish patterns, the Spro Dean Rojas Bronzeye Spit Shad 60 mimics the smaller fall forage to perfection.

"The spit shad was built to resemble baitfish, and that is exactly what I am looking for in the fall of the year. While other anglers are picking up buzzbaits, ploppers, or bigger walking baits I can go through the same areas and get bites on the spit shad. I think a big part of it is just showing the fish something different, as a lot of people put down the frog when the water temperatures start to cool off," Rojas continues.

Efficiency is also one of the major advantages he factors into his fall frogging game plan.

"With the spit shad I just feel like I can be much more efficient than with other baits, particularly those with treble hooks. I'm still throwing it on 80lb Sunline FX2 Braid, and with those 4/0 Gamakatsu hooks if one bites it I am typically going to be able to put it in the boat." Rojas concludes.
