BENTON, Ky. (Jan. 13, 2006) - FLW Outdoors announced Friday the introduction of an all-new Stratos Owners' Tournament Trail for 2006. The new FLW Outdoors trail meets the demand for professionally run team tournaments catering to Stratos and Javelin boat owners.
Teams will have the opportunity to compete in any of six, two-day $40,000 qualifying regionals for a top award of $10,000 cash.
The tournament trail kicks off Feb. 17-18 on Lake Seminole in Bainbridge, Ga., followed by a tournament March 17-18 on Lake Ouachita in Mt. Ida, Ark. The Santee Cooper Lakes in Summerton, S.C., will host the third tournament April 14-15, and the California Delta in Stockton, Calif., will be home to the fourth tournament April 21-22. A regional will be held on Bay of Quinte in Belleville, Ontario, July 22-23 followed by the sixth and final regional on Lake Erie in Brownstown, Mich., Aug. 4-5.
The top 35 teams from the Lake Seminole, Lake Ouachita, Santee Cooper Lakes and Lake Erie regionals as well as the top 20 teams from the California Delta and top 10 teams from the Bay of Quinte regional will be invited to the 2006 Stratos Owners' Championship held Oct. 6-7 on Old Hickory Lake in Gallatin, Tenn. The winning team from each of the stateside regionals will also advance to the 2007 $2 million, no-entry-fee Forrest Wood Cup where they will compete in the Co-angler Division.
Entry fees are $200 per team, per event for regionals and $300 per team for the Stratos Owners' Championship. To be eligible for competition, at least one member of each team must be the registered owner of a Stratos or Javelin boat that will be used during each tournament.
