NORMAN, Okla. (February 1, 2013) — Minn Kota remains an official sponsor of the Texas Team Trail (TXTT) in 2013. The renewal comes as the Texas Team Trail and Minn Kota look to build upon a successful inaugural season.
“We’re so fortunate to have the support of a brand like Minn Kota,” said Mike Hastings, TXTT Tournament Director. “Their name is synonymous with quality and so many TXTT anglers utilize their products. We’re proud to partner with them and look forward to growing the relationship for years to come.”
Minn Kota offers a complete line of shallow water anchors, battery chargers, and marine accessories in addition to their well-known trolling motor designs.
The Minn Kota electric trolling motor began its life in 1934 in Fargo, N. D. Inventor O. G. Schmidt was known to be a man of many diverse ideas. Prior to the trolling motor, Schmidt invented, produced and sold a copper-soldering torch from his home in Wheatland, N. D.
Due to its success, manufacturing operations were then moved to Fargo. Because of its proximity to the MINNesota – North DaKOTA border, Schmidt named the business The Minn Kota Manufacturing Company.
“The Texas Team Trail represents a great opportunity to support our customers in and around the state of Texas,” said Minn Kota Marketing Director Joe Brown. “But even more importantly, we strive to support competitive fishing at all levels. The Texas Team Trail format, payout structure and sponsor incentives are incredible. We’re excited to be back on board for 2013.”
