High Pressure Direct Injected Outboards
- Yamaha is introducing three new High Pressure Direct Injection (HPDI) outboards for model year 2003. For offshore anglers, the new Z250 HPDI outboard is available in 25" and 30" shaft lengths in standard and counter-rotating models. For bass anglers, the new VMAX Z250 and Z225 outboards with their specially designed lower units help get anglers to those big bass. All three outboards utilize a new 3.3-liter engine block that features next-generation HPDI technology with fuel injected into the cylinder at 1,000 psi resulting in greater fuel atomization for maximum fuel combustion and efficiency.
Four-Stroke Outboards
- For 2003, Yamaha adds two mid-range four-stroke outboards to its extensive family of four-strokes - the F75 and F90. Utilizing a 1.6-liter powerhead, the F75 and F90 feature a double overhead cam direct drive design that eliminates the added weight and adjustments of rocker arms.
- Owners of small craft will benefit from Yamaha's new F2.5 four-stroke portable outboard. Weighing in at a lightweight 37 pounds, the F2.5 features an automatic decompression device to make manual starts easier on the operator.
Four-Stroke High-Thrust Outboards
- The new high-thrust four-stroke T60 features a strong 2.31:1 gear ration and a dual thrust propeller to help it move heavy loads and non-planing hulls like pontoon boats. The dual thrust propeller increases forward thrust by 70 percent, reverse thrust by 60 percent and provides superior braking ability.
Four-Stroke Jetdrives
- Yamaha adds to its line of four-stroke Jetdrive outboards for 2003 - the F90 Jetdrive, F60 Jetdrive and F40 Jetdrive. These outboards are ideal for boaters who use their craft in shallow water, over sandbars or in whitewater rapids where rocky or muddy bottoms and shallow structure would damage props on
