KENNESAW, Ga., 2/15/05 - Yamaha Marine has signed a three-year agreement with North American Fishing Club (NAFC) to sponsor two of its television shows, North American Fisherman's "Fishing Club Journal" and "North American Fisherman".
"We are excited to be working with Yamaha," said Steve Pennaz, executive director of NAFC and host of both shows. "Their world-class line of high-performance outboards are renowned for their reliability and that means a lot when we're on remote location and have to trust our gear."
"Fishing Club Journal" airs three times a week until May 12 on the Outdoor Channel (Mon.-5 p.m. EST, Tues.-11 a.m. EST and Thurs.-10 p.m. EST).
"North American Fisherman" also airs three times a week on the Outdoor Life Network (Fri.-7 a.m. EST, Sat.-4 a.m. EST and Sun.-1:30 p.m. EST).
Both shows feature magazine-style formats and are multi-species in nature, targeting North America's most popular freshwater and saltwater species each week.
Both "Fishing Club Journal" and "North American Fisherman" have received several national awards for excellence, including 2004 when "Fishing Club Journal" received The Outdoor Channel's Golden Moose Award for "Best Saltwater Footage."
"Fishing Club Journal" and "North American Fisherman" together attract a million viewers each week, airing more than 20 times regionally and nationally. Both shows are supported through the official NAFC publication, North American Fisherman magazine, along with a club Web site and weekly E-newsletter.
"With the large number of viewers these programs reach, Yamaha will be able to carry its message to the anglers who enjoy their time on the water and at home trying to hone their skills," said Frank Wilhelm, advertising manager for Yamaha Marine.
