MINNEAPOLIS (Jan. 4, 2012) – FLW, a bass fishing tournament organization, announced that Z-Man has extended its sponsorship agreement. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Trish Blake, President of FLW Marketing Division, stated: “Z-Man has established itself as a reputable brand within our industry, and thus we’re thrilled to keep them in our sponsor lineup. Z-Man lures played a pivotal role at a number of our FLW Tour events, including Luke Clausen’s win on the Potomac River.”

Clausen makes up one part of the Z-Man pro staff, also known as “The Z-Man Squad.” The Spokane, Wash., native is one of only five pros to have won both the Bassmaster Classic and the Forrest Wood Cup. Clausen largely credited his most recent win to the new Z-Man ElaZtech Flappin’ CrawZ.

“I mainly fished for spawning bass in that tournament, and the ElazTech material on that Flappin’ CrawZ makes it appear so lifelike,” Clausen said. “It’s also naturally buoyant, which separated it from a lot of other baits. It really got those spawning fish fired up.”

As part of the sponsorship agreement, Z-Man will receive exposure across all platforms of FLW, including its tournaments, websites, magazines and many other events.

“We are thrilled to be onboard with FLW for the 2012 tournament season,” said Daniel Nussbaum, General Manager and Executive Vice President for Z-Man. “Our ongoing relationship – not only with FLW, but with specific anglers like Luke Clausen – has been critical to our continued growth and success.”

Z-Man, once recognized for its prominence in bass fishing circles alone, now offers dynamic tournament-fishing lures for every fishing scenario. From soft-plastic baits, which are non-toxic and 10 times tougher than traditional soft-plastic baits, to a wide selection of offshore trolling lures, Z-Man has used persistent innovation and 25 years of manufacturing experience to position itself as an industry leader.
