Tom has been an outdoor writer since 1989, published in many newspapers in southwestern Ontario (such as Southwestern Ontario Bow & Gun) and many provincial and national magazines.
In addition to writing, he also provides consumer and trade show seminars on sportfishing new product features, tips, and techniques. He also instructs students in his sportfishing classes with local boards of education. He has guided smallmouth bass trips in Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair for mostly U.S. customers from around the country.
He is also a bass tournament competitor on Pro Staff with All Star Graphite Rods, Mizmo, Kinami Baits, Illusion Lures, Maxima Fishing Line, Daiichi \ Xpoint \ Tru Turn Hooks, Awesome Baits, and Canadian Wiggler.
During his "off hours," he hosts kids' fishing camps with local municipal recreation departments summer camps.
