The saying goes that good isn’t cheap and cheap isn’t good, but does it have to be that way? When we deal with the simpler things in life, do we still need to pay a premium price? The folks at Nako have something to say about that. Makers of premium tungsten weights and jigs, not only do they come in 10 count packs, but they are very affordable. If you find a lower price, they will match it or refund you the difference.

They offer a variety of weights in the worm, flipping, drop shot, barrel, and nail weights. All the painted weights come with a special no-chip coating. The weight is printed clearly on the side, so there isn't any confusion on what size you’ve selected. They’re insert-free and polished to prevent sharp edges from damaging your line.

Their weights seem to be comparable, maybe even slightly smaller than other brands of weights in the exact sizes. I was happy with the size of the line hole in the weights. It was big enough to thread easily but small enough that it was easy to peg them. They performed well, and I was shocked by how well the finish held up. I fished this same weight for five trips in a row, through rocks, laydowns, and docks, but I can’t find a mark.

The nail weights ridged design stayed firmly in place in the plastic I was using despite being skipped into dock floats repeatedly. I was shocked to find that these cost less than most similar lead nail weights! No reason or excuse not to use them.

Despite getting hung in the rocks a few times, the drop shot weights did well holding onto the line. I didn’t notice any marks or scarring on the finish of the weight, even after multiple drops into rocks and around docks.

This company has shunned the norm of demanding a premium price for a premium product. All their products I tried performed above my expectations, especially relative to the prices. If you’re looking to stock up on some tungsten for the next fishing season, I would suggest taking a serious look at adding some Nako tungsten to your arsenal.
