Hey everybody, Chris Strickland, Quantum project manager. We're in Vegas for the 2011 ICAST show, we're going to show your our brand new XO Bait Cast spinning reels, and Bait Cast reels, along with out XO rods.

Right now, I'm going to be honest with you, it's the talk of the show. The reason why is, because you can see from the design, all skeletal, where we didn't need metal we took it out, in fact we code named this project "Metal Where it Matters." So you've got aluminum frame, side cover, gear side cover, Bait Cast reel, 5.9 ounces.

We could've made it a lot lighter, but we choose not to, we didn't want to sacrifice performance. You can get on hundred and forty five yards of twelve pound mono on this reel, and also you can get up to nineteen pounds of drag pressure, depending on which gear ratio of the Bait Cast reels you have.

So again, 5.9 ounces, no sacrifice in performance, $249.

Now when you look at the spinning size, we've got two reels, a 25 and a 30. Twenty five weighs in at 6.9 ounces, and guys again, this is a metal framed reel, metal frame, metal body. But what's really, really cool about the router, that's one area where we took out a lot of weight. This is what we call C4LF, which is a carbon fiber, it's a long fiber, which has very long strands of carbon in it.

Those long strands, when they bond together going through the tool, makes it a very, very rigid, strong, lightweight component of the reel. That's how we were able to get the 25 size at 6.9 ounces. The spinning reels, again 25 size, 30 size, $199.

Now when you look at the rods, when you pair them together, we got C4, carbon construction, we're extremely exited about this. They featured the new SK2 Fuji reel seat, it's 54% lighter then a standard reel seat.

Micro Guides stainless steel frame, Alconite inserts. That takes about 84% of weight out of the entire rod as well. So when you compare the rods and the reels, depending on which action of the rod, you're look at right around 10 ounces. In fact we have one Bait Cast combo that's 9.1 ounces, so we're extremely excited about this. The rods retail for $179.
